Roberts Karate is a family-oriented dojo in the South-End of Guelph. Established in 1988, our dojo continues a tradition of passing Martial Arts knowledge from teacher to student in a direct linage of Karate Masters dating back to the 18th century in Okinawa.

At Roberts Karate, we teach effective Karate, practical self-defense, Kobudo (Weapons), and Kumite (Fighting) techniques to build confident, self-motivated, self-respecting students; students of character with moral responsibility to “Persevere and Do-Right” (our dojo motto).

Come make yourself at home in our dojo. Our philosophy surrounding instruction is to assist our students in their karate training by leading through example while guiding them with positive reinforcement and encouragement.

Heritage
We train in Kobayashi Shorin-Ryu Karate-Do (the “small forest” style) as practiced and developed by a long line of Okinawan Masters dating back to the 1700’s.
Experience
Roberts Karate has been providing top quality Martial Arts instruction since 1988. Renshi Rick Roberts (6th Dan) has been studying Martial Arts for over 30 years.
Integrity
All ranks and titles for our Black Belt Instructors have been awarded on merit in open testing conducted by a grading board comprised of senior ranking Black Belts and sanctioned by the Okinawan Shorin-Ryu Shorinkan Kyokai in Okinawa, Japan.
